MARKET CORNER - My Interior Lab

Located on Boulevard Ernest Solvay in Liège, Market Corner bakery and sandwich shop embodies the spirit and character of the Thier-à-Liège neighbourhood. Our mission was to reinvent this commercial space by creating a warm, timeless and welcoming environment, designed to encourage connection and enhance the visitor experience. ### A Renovation Project Designed Around the Customer Experience We led a complete renovation of the customer area, transforming this Liège bakery into a genuine place to live, meet and connect. Every element was carefully designed to combine refined aesthetics with optimal functionality, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere that invites visitors to slow down and enjoy the space. ### Bespoke Interior Design and Collaboration with Local Craftsmanship The interior design is based on a carefully curated selection of high-quality materials and a strong connection with local craftsmanship in Liège. The bespoke walnut and terracotta counter, entirely designed by our interior architecture studio down to the smallest detail and crafted by a local artisan, forms the centrepiece of the space. Functional details were integrated into the design, including openings in the countertop for disposing of coffee grounds, as well as retractable stainless-steel worktops that allow the working surface to be expanded whenever needed. The hand-blown pendant lights diffuse a soft, warm light that enhances the atmosphere, while a large central table turns every visit into an opportunity to share and connect, reinforcing the convivial character of the space. ### A Visual Identity Celebrating the Local Context Materials, textures, lighting and colour palette were carefully considered to create a warm and timeless interior design. Our approach to commercial interior design combines a strong local identity with the practical requirements of a functional, comfortable and welcoming food service space. ### A Community Hub for Thier-à-Liège Since its reopening, Market Corner has re-established itself as a key meeting place in Thier-à-Liège. This project reflects our approach to commercial interior architecture: creating spaces where thoughtful design, comfort and individuality come together to create memorable places that strengthen the identity of each brand and enrich the experience of its visitors.
