DESPRES - My Interior Lab

Every interior tells a story. This one began with a simple need: to rethink an apartment as a whole and adapt it to a new way of living. For this project in the Liège region, we worked closely with a thoughtful and attentive couple to completely transform their living environment. The aim was to redesign the entire apartment, from the furniture and kitchen to the bathroom, bedrooms and circulation spaces. A project of this scale is not simply a succession of individual rooms to renovate. It requires a holistic interior design approach, where every space interacts with the others. The challenge was to create consistency, fluidity and an atmosphere that truly reflects the occupants’ lifestyle. We therefore rethought the overall layout of the apartment to optimise the volumes and circulation, while bringing greater comfort and functionality to everyday life. Each area was carefully considered, with a focus on finding the right balance between aesthetics and practical use. The kitchen was designed as a central space—both practical and welcoming, encouraging everyday interaction and conviviality. The bathroom was transformed into a more peaceful environment, conceived as a genuine retreat from the rhythm of daily life. The bedrooms and circulation areas were designed to bring softness, storage and a greater sense of flow throughout the apartment. Furniture also played a key role in the project, helping to create visual continuity and a strong identity across the entire interior. This project illustrates the importance of a holistic approach to interior architecture: considering every detail in relation to the whole to create a harmonious, functional and deeply personal home.
